At Grit to Grain, the passion came from a familiar place. A father who was talented, and creative. He showed how hard work, and trial and error bring great results and great frustrations. Make a flaw a feature he would say, and so many of my greatest pieces were brought about by a flaw telling me what I actually needed to do. The wood has more opinions than I'd like at times, but it seems to know best. So embrace the dance, let the work happen, and put that grit to that wood grain, put that effort into that project. The grain will reveal it's beauty in its unique way, and that project will become a part of the grain that makes me who I am.
